Action Plans and Advocacy
December 8, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The majority of the meeting time will be spent going over the recently released LWVMN Firearms in Minnesota study. New LWVMN positions or changes to established LWVMN positions must be supported by a study and consensus. Consensus is the process of reaching member agreement through group discussion of an issue. 75% of members participating must agree for consensus to be reached. Members statewide have been tasked with reviewing the study report and consensus questions. At both the December meetings, LWVE members will be voting on eight consensus questions regarding the LWVMN position on firearms.
If you would like to review the study report ahead of the meeting, you can find the report here. The eight consensus questions can be reviewed here. If you are an LWVE member and are unable to attend either meeting but would still like to vote or would prefer to vote via secret ballot, here is a Response Ballot for Individual Members.
