Local Option Sales Tax on the Ballot
Thursday, October 13 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Join LWVE on Thursday morning, October 13 to learn about the proposed Edina local sales tax. Edina City Manager Scott Neal and Parks and Recreation Director Perry Vetter will explain the details of the local sales tax, which will be on the ballot for the November 8 election.
In November, Edina voters will vote on two separate questions, choosing whether to allow the City to raise money through a local sales tax to fund $21.6 in infrastructure improvements to Braemar Park and $17.7 million for the development of Fred Richards Park. The authorized tax can only be for one half of one percent (0.5%) and for no longer than 19 years.
