Morning meeting: Edina City and School District Sustainability Initiatives

Join us for a discussion of city and school district initiatives in Edina. Featured speakers will be Grace Hancock, City of Edina Sustainability Coordinator; and a speaker from the Edina Public School district. Morning meetings will feature social time at 9:45 AM and presentations beginning at 10:00 AM.
Morning meetings are free of charge and open to all unless otherwise noted.
LWVE’s March Morning Meeting will feature speakers from both the City of Edina and the Edina School District who will discuss sustainability initiatives the entities are implementing or considering.
Grace Hancock, City of Edina’s Sustainability Coordinator has previous experience leading internal strategy for a global environmental non-profit and education in community engagement, urban planning and environmental policy and justice. She is leading the city’s effort to create a climate action plan, writing and building support for Green Fleet and Green Building policies, and participating in organized advocacy for strong regional, state and national support for city climate actions.
Eric Hamilton, Director of Buildings and Grounds, Curt Johanson, Buildings and Grounds Manager and Laurie Wilcox, Department Specialist for Edina Public Schools will speak about the district’s sustainability efforts including solar and other energy initiatives, conservation of resources and reduction of the use of substances that can harm the environment.
