Morning Meeting: How Black Women are Changing Politics and Influencing Elections

Duchess Harris, Ph.D., J.D., Professor of American Studies and Political Science at Macalester College, will share her scholarship and perspective on “the transformative influence of black feminist political strategy and principles in mainstream U.S. politics,” with LWVE at the April morning meeting. All are welcome!
A past regular contributor to Huffington Post on race, feminism and politics, Professor Harris is the curator of the Duchess Harris Collection, 115 books written for students in grades 4 through 12. She wrote about her grandmother’s experience in the book, “Hidden Human Computers: The Black Women of NASA,” with co-author Sue Bradford Edwards.
